This week Petaloo and Little Yellow Bicycle are joining forces and there will be no shortage of inspiration to be found!  Imagine my surprise when I opened up my box and literally felt like I was being wrapped in sunshine. Get your sunglasses ready.....

Wow!  If that doesn't make you want to go build a sand castle, I'm just not sure what will.  I love how vibrant and happy everything feels.  This line from LYB comes with a ton of embellishments.  There are 3D stickers, regular stickers, transparencies, die cuts and the list goes on.  Lots of possibilities.

Flora Doodles are just so much fun to play with.  One of my favorite things to do with them is fold them and smoosh them.  Here I fold and layered different colors, and then dressed it up with a jewel and some Stickles.

This is my most favorite part of this page.  These flowers are a blank canvas and while I stayed with the tried and true option of layering the different sizes, I still found a way to give them their own personalities.  They aren't just ANY flower.  LOL  I added some grommets, jeweled brads for centers and stickles.  I layers a few of the tye dyed Gypsies in there to give the flowers some varigation.  I am really pleased with how they look.  GORGEOUS!!!

For my mom, I made this cute little gift tag using some paper from the Hello Spring line.  I smooshed and layers some smaller Flora Doodles and gave them all a little bling.  I finished them ff by adding in some of Petaloo's newest items, feathers.  MMMMMMMmmm, so soft.

A Vintage Spring card from DT member Helena Johannson:

Spring is in full bloom and what better way to celebrate that than to make a card? I decided to make a vintage one, and the blue Mulberry paper daisies has got the perfect shade of blue to go with the music paper. I layered several flowers and used a brad in the middle. I folded the "legs" of the brad a bit to make the flower more three dimensional. Then I added some blue tye-dyed daisies around the larger flower.

From Paris with Love - part 2

In april I showed a layout with Amber on the Eifel tower in Paris using beautiful spring flowers.

Today I have a simular photo only I turned it into a more vintage layout using the beautiful Darjeeling Collection of Medium and Mini flowers by Petaloo.

This flower collection has lots of great flower shapes such as Hydrangeas and Mini Daisies in the perfect vintage colors of cream, black and burgundy!  In addition, many of these flowers have really cool metal centers. The best part of these flowers?  They are made from Recycled paper!

There are lots of papers to match these flowers... Tim Holtz, Graphic 45 and Bo Bunny are just a few.   Why don't you pick some up and make your own Vintage layout today?!

Spring Layout with Flora Doodles

I'm so happy to see the bright and beautiful colors of the flowers in my yard and gardens. Spring is such a wonderful time of the year.  

So today, in honor of Spring, I have a bright and colorful layout for you, using Petaloo's Flora Doodles line.  I used some paper from Imaginisce's Spring line and the colors went perfectly with Petaloo's Bright Flora Doodles flowers.  

This cute little guy is my son and he just recently experienced his first Easter Egg hunt.  I think that next year is going to be a lot more fun! Ha! The grass was really prickly and he didn't want to move to grab his eggs when we put him down. Next year, I am sure he will be running to grab his share.

My favorite thing about these flowers is how easy they are to layer.  There are many different colors, shapes and sizes in the package so it's just a matter of putting the smaller ones on top of the larger flowers and securing them together.

On this layout I used some Basic Grey brads that I had in my stash and was thrilled to see that they matched the colors of the flowers perfectly. Another tip I woud like to share is how to make the leaves that I have with these flowers.  One of the Flora Doodles flowers is green, has 6 petals and is the same shape as the blue flower I have on my layout.  If you cut along the petals lines into the center, the pieces resemble leaves.  I slid them under the flowers and they worked perfectly.

This photo shows how I used some of the new Bird Spring Dazzlers as accents for my title. I love the little bit of glitter on their wings.

Spring Layout

Hello everyone! Today I would like to share a Spring inspired layout with lots of gorgeous Petaloo blooms with you all. To create this layout, I've used Flora doodles Jeweled Florettes and Mulberry.

Here are some close-ups on it.

I've lightly folded the petals up of each flower and layered them. The Flora Doodles Jeweled Florettes makes a perfect flower center.

Check out how much dimension you could get if you layer them.

The mini florettes are also perfect for decorating banners.

How do you layer flowers?

Today's post is all about flowers.  It's the perfect embelishment for Spring!  I love all the fun and bright colors of this season. Petaloo's Flora Doodles have the right shape, size and colors.  

I couldn't decide what flower I like best so I used a few to create today's card.  Don't you just love these flowers?

I started layering my largest Flora Doodles flower and used the smaller Flora Doodles flowers to fill in the empty spaces on my card.  I also tucked in die cutted leaves where needed.  This is a great way to build clusters and to add more texture to your card.

Want another techinque to use on your card?  Using the Mulberry Paper Flowers I like to fold them over and layer them on another.  I like this look because it reminds me of a Cone Flower Daisy(my favorite).  

The only difference between a real flower and my card is my flower has a cute frog on it.  You can get these adorable frogs from the Dazzlers Water Animals collection.

Delicate Treasure

A few years back we went on a family vacation to the Outer Banks in North Carolina.  My daughter was running up and down the beach looking for sand dollars and pirate treasure.  Instead of gold she found a feather from a sea gull and she couldn't have been happier.  Not sure the birds were so excited as she kept chasing them trying to give it back. 

I have packs of these gorgeous and vibrant Flora Doodles so I decided to just have fun and play with color.  Flora Doodles are a perfect blank canvas.  Sure they are perfectly gorgeous just as they are, but a little bling never hurts. ;)

I decided to stamp an image in white onto my Flora Doodles.  Then I folded the flower in half and placed a Grungeboard flower base shape over it.  I curled back the top petals and then accented with Liquid Pearls.  I really love the way they came out. 

Here, I stamped the base flower using the same stamp but this time I added some Fairy Dust glitter to the ink before it dried.  I layered a smaller flower on top and using Glossy Accents I added some beads for my flower center.

Here you can see some of the itty bitty Flora Doodles.  I smooshed these together to make them nice and plump and then glued them in place!

The next time you are looking to totally customize your flowers and make them look totally unique, grab some Flora Doodles!!

From Paris with Love

Dear Blog readers.

Mireille here... Last month we started spring with a visit to Euro Disney in Paris. We had blast but it was Amber's big wish to see Paris for real.. the city.. outside the Disney park. She so wanted to see the Eiffel Tower. She said it was her biggest wish in the world.. a wish from the heart. So how could we refuse?  We had a blast.. Paris was beautiful.. the Eiffel tower was beautiful, but most of all I enjoyed watching my little/ big girl enjoy herself. Before we went she made a study out of the Eiffel tower.. and her teacher helped her.. looking everything up on the computer. How long it took for them to build it.. how many people build it .. when.. and why.. and how high it is.

And high it was at the top. She enjoyed the view till she ran out of pocket money.. (and believe me she saved a lot) There was nothing more I could do then scrap this photo of this wonderful moment using the beautiful soft pink tones of the Spring Darjeeling Collections. I  especially am very fond of the little pearls in the mini pearl daisies.. I thought they were só "Paris"

Excited to Guest Design!

Today on the Petaloo Blog we have a special treat!  Our sweet friend (and well known designer) Eva Dobilas has agreed to create a few Spring cards with our new Floradoodles flowers for Spring.  We hope you enjoy her creations as much as we do...welcome Eva!!!!!!

Hello there and happy Spring to you!  This is Eva Dobilas sharing a couple of happy cards with you.  I am excited to guest design for Petaloo this month and so happy I get to show off my cards for you.  Thank you Cheryl for asking me!  :)

I had a chance to work with some of the Flora Doodles and my first card totally represents that.  I love layered flowers, so even though some of the flowers I worked with were flat, I just got them wet, crumbled them and dried them and got this really pretty frilly flower with it, than I just layered them on top of each other.  Finally I added some Diamond Dust to add even more interest to it.  The pretty sentiment is by Unity Stamps, in case you would like to know.

Here is a little close up of my flowers. They sure are pretty, don't you think.  So many options!

My next card is so super cute and is using the adorable Little Birdie Dazzlers.  I created a background scene with JustRite Papercraft's Chevron Stripe background stamp, which I white embossed onto white cardstock, than painted it in with Creative Imaginations Luminarte Twinkling H2O's.  And the easiest part was to add my cute little birdies, but look at how adorable this card is!

Here is a little close up of the birdies.  I also used May Arts ribbon and another pretty Flora Doodles flower.

Hope you like these little cards as much as I loved making them!

I love Spring!

Hi everybody! Helena here to share a couple of Petaloo projects with you. Spring has finally arrived, and I just love this time of year - love when everything comes to life again and even the rain smells good, not to mention the first Spring flowers!

Speeking of flowers, Petaloos Flora Doodles, Mulberry Paper Daisies and Dazzlers were just perfect for my Spring themed cards. All the colors of these flowers just makes me happy!

First, a card in yellow, red and green - such a yummy color combination! I made my cards sized 3x3, a size that's perfect to tuck into a bouquet of flowers :)

The second card is in yellow, pink and blue. Look at the little bird - isn't it adorable!

Then, I decided to make a card in black and white with one additional color. Using flowers in only one color in several layers, makes the flower really pop of the card. I love the rich red color in these Mulberry Paper flowers. This card is size 6x6.
