For each petal on the shamrock
This brings a wish your way.
for today and everyday.
Hello, Friends! St. Patrick's Day will be here soon, and the wearin' o' the green will be expected! To get us ready for this fun holiday, I've created a monochromatic easel card, and I bet you can guess the color palette!
I have Irish roots in my family tree, so this is always a fun holiday at our house. We do fish and chips, and Guinness and Irish Soda Bread, too. I even make a special batch of my husband's favorite Irish Whiskey Truffles for dessert. Yum!
The lovely ladies on this card are enjoying afternoon tea (Irish Breakfast, of course!) To frame the image, I die cut 3 of Tim Holtz' Ornate Frames from cardstock, layered them with foam dimensionals and backed the frame with this sweet image that I found in my stash. I found this little vintage teacup and saucer charm and hung it from the side of the frame. My paper layers are from my scrap bin. I went rummaging through it in search of any and all things green! Some of these are leftover bits from mixed media projects done long ago. But they are all green!
These gorgeous Pistachio Anemones make me think of shamrocks! I added a pretty green gingham bow and gold tassel to my flower cluster. A two layer chipboard flourish was heat embossed with gold powder on the bottom, then painted with Antique Linen Distress Paint on the top layer.
To create the "stopper" for the card, I added a strip of vintage crochet lace across the middle of the card interior panel. This was topped with glorious green Darjeeling Hydrangeas at the top and a cluster of Green Darjeeling Garden Rosettes at the bottom. One of the things I love the most about easel cards is how great they look displayed on a mantel or side table.
Here's a peek at the inside of the card. I added a little gift pocket stuffed with yummy chocolate and a sweet Irish Blessing that reads:
May your troubles be less
and your Blessings be more
and nothing but happiness
come to your door!
That's my wish for you this St. Patrick's Day! I'd love to hear how you celebrate in the comment section below.
May the road rise up to meet you!

Hi today, Heather here. I hope you all are enjoying some Petaloo Pets. We want to share the love with not only those four legged friends, but two legged, winged, finned and/or feathered. So today I am sharing an elegant three tiered cake. My project is showcasing the Finch surrounded by from Relics & Artifacts I had these three round gift boxes that came one inside each other. I had thought of stacking them and putting some precious gifts in the inside.
I started out by decorating the bases with some paper, trimming it with some Dresden trim and adding some pretty Fancy Trims in Aqua and Cream. After all was applied with the paper decorating, I decided to glue them all together.
Afterthought I could have used a small thin velcro so they were removable, but you can still take off the tops to put some goodies on the inside.
I actually dug out those old Fun Flocks that were such a craze a few years back and decided to add some pretty fluffiness to the finch. I hand painted the eyes and the beak
And now it was time to add the gorgeous flowers. I used some new Ruffled Peony from the 2017 Spring release, along with a ton of other beautiful Darjeeling teals and creams.
So I am going to package up the tiers with lots of goodies for the bride to be and send a little love with it. I hope she enjoy's it. Thank you for taking a peak today and enjoy our Petaloo Pets inspiration.

Lynne here and today I'm sharing a layout with you of my grand-son Jackson and his friend Charlie the Beagle. These two, just love each other! So yes, Every Puppy Should Have A Boy!!
Once again, I dug deep in my stash to create this layout. Every year I resolve to use up as much of my stash as I can. I might be kidding myself into thinking I can ever use it all up!!! But I'm trying!
For the background, I layered a some strips of patterned paper, then a wash of gesso. Once dry I added some Shimmerz in blue and orange. On top of that I ran some molding paste and dimensional paint in green through a stencil....these were layered over each other at the same time. Finally, I added strips of torn lace covered in the blue Shimmerz, then some stamping in orange, and some wriggly lines in a teal marker.
Here you can really see the texture I achieved with more dimensional paint, over the chippy keyhole. I used a brush and just dabbed it on.
Of course, my favorite part always includes adding flowers! Yes, even on boy layouts!! The Vintage Velvet Peonies, Briar Roses in Canvas and the Garden Rosettes, layer so beautifully together!! A few smaller blooms, Textured Mini Blossoms, Hydrangeas and Jeweled Florettes, complete the look.
The gorgeous colors of these blooms, keep the look from being too feminine, but add enough softness to keep it from being too harsh.
I hope you enjoyed! See you soon, Lynne.

Hey there Paper Peeps! I know I have thoughts of Spring as it's been a long cold Winter. I created this card with bright cheerful colors, and a gorgeous selection of flowers.
I've chosen shades of purple for this card inspired by the gorgeous flowers. Sadly I am not a very good gardener so all my flowers have to be Petaloo.
Oh my goodness there is so much texture here!!!! I've layered many types of flowers here and tucked in ribbon and twine and coordinating butterflies.
Additional flowers and butterfly here to balance the other arrangement. The paper has been tattered and stitched and I added pearly accents for detail.

Hello, Friends! I'm back again today to share another Petaloo Pets project with you. Yesterday I shared a shabby chic folio for your favorite pooch, but today it's all about CATS! Once again, I've paired gorgeous Petaloo flowers with images and papers from Authentique's "Devoted" collection.
I found this 7" x 6" book board binder album in the Closet of Shame while straightening up my stash. I altered the cover by adding patterned papers and a canvas spine for extra texture. The end result is this sweet little album that is just loaded with shabby chic touches.
Every shabby chic project needs to be adorned with beautiful flowers. I had such a good time dressing this album up with Petaloo mini wild roses, Forget-me-nots, and burlap blossoms. I'll provide product links at the end of this post.
One really fun feature is this framed image inside a cluster of buttons. The frame is actually a large button! I just punched out a vintage image to fit the button interior, glued the image in place and then filled the button with Glossy Accents to create a unique vintage embellishment for the album.
The album came with a ring binder mechanism. I created different sized/shaped pages to create a staggered effect.
The pretty shabby chic frame was altered with paints and seed beads. I added a glass bead to the burlap butterfly body to make it pop in the layout.
I added this canvas spine with Scor-Tape to add texture and to amp up the shabby chic vibe.
Here's a peek inside the album. Pockets were added to each cover for even more photo storage. The staggered pages give the album a playful, whimsical feel. Because I find it hard to get a real sense of the flow of an album with still photos, I created a YouTube video tour for you. In it, I share lots of tips and tricks for using scraps, creating custom embellishments and getting the most out of your papers. I hope you enjoy!
Thanks so much for joining me today!

Hello, Friends! Are you enjoying the Petaloo Pets theme? I have a really fun little folio to share with you today. It's fairly quick to pull together (a day or less) and is built in a style that lends itself to display in your home or office. I used lots of pretty Petaloo posies along with Authentique's "Devoted" paper collection to make this shabby chic All You Need is Love...and a Dog folio.
The folio is made from a 5" x 7" card base with a 1/4" spine. This is an easy adaptation. When you are building your card base, score at both 7" and 7 1/4". Now you have a dimensional base that you can fill with all kinds of little photo mounts and pull outs.
The Authentique papers have a wonderful vintage/shabby chic feel to them. I emphasized this by adding Petaloo Spice Anemones, Blue Forget me Nots, and Ivory Textured blossoms. After layering up the images and patterns on the cover, I spattered them with a little diluted black paint to amp up the shabby/vintage vibe.
Here's a peek inside the folio. I find it's always hard to grasp the "flow" of a project like this with still photos, so I've prepared a YouTube video tour for you. I share lots of good tips and ideas for creating folios in this video. I hope you enjoy!
Thanks so much for joining me here today! If you have any questions, I'd love to hear from you in the comment section below.
